Hi and welcome!
I've been meaning to set up a new blog to showcase some of my work for a while now. Although Facebook and Instagram are great outlets for most of it (Blood Bowl miniatures mainly) sometimes the quality of the pictures is a bit low, especially for the bigger team shots.
I've been a hobbyist for some 30 years now on and off and more recently getting back into it, especially Blood Bowl since the 2016 release. Back in the day I played 40k (2nd ed), some Necromunda and Blood Bowl, but it was more about the miniatures and hobby time than actually playing the games themselves.
I tried getting back into 40k first (7th/8th ed I think) but after getting tabled a few times, I lost interest and realised I'd have to spend a lot more money in order to keep up with the latest trends/units/armies, not to mention the rules.
So when I found a near-mint 3rd ed boxed set (albeit a Spanish version) on the equivalent of Gumtree in Sao Paulo, Brazil, I jumped at the chance to relive some more of my youth in a game I knew and understood. I'd been playing the first Cyanide game for a while on my ageing PC and although only against the AI, felt I could at least be competitive if ever I found someone to play with IRL.
The following year in 2016/2017 I found myself moving back to the UK and quickly found the ECBBL in London. A great league with some 'household name' coaches at the time and started playing, and losing. Still, a lot of fun, a lot of dice and a lot of beer later and I'm still there, having only missed a couple of seasons throughout that time.
As I mentioned, I'd always liked painting and recently I've started doing commissions. I don't claim to be the world's best painter and would be happy to class myself in the 'Tabletop+' category. I try to do interesting projects rather than just GW boxed set stuff but that's not to say I don't have GW stuff myself. Rather, I do like some of their new models and the boxed sets have come a fair way, even since the first releases of the BB 2016 style ones.
I'll try to start the posts from the beginning of my journey back into the hobby from this period, lets ignore the brief pre-2016 experiment in 40k.
Thanks for following!
